Early in 2018 we started a project with Dorset Advocacy to make a series of 12 films that shine a light on the different Advocacy services they provide. Dorset Advocacy is a charity located in Poundbury on the edge of Dorchester. The Charity provides independent advocates help to ensure that rights are upheld and that peoples’ views, wishes and needs are heard, respected and acted upon. This is achieved through a number of different services, each looking at a particular aspect of health and social care.
Dorset Advocacy want some short, easily digestible videos about each of the services they provide that can be hosted online and easily shared. The videos are not designed to give in depth information about each service but merely an idea of what the service is and the positive impact it can have on someones life, using case studies as examples.
We wanted to mix fun simple animation with clear voiceover and real peoples stories. It took a little time to settle on a style for the animation but we came up with some simple character assets and worked our style out from there. The first of these films, an introduction to Dorset Advocacy and the project has now been released with the second film (NHS complaints) due to be released in August 2018.
The first film can be seen below and we will post the other films on this page as they get released.
Music for these films has been produced by Matt Tarling, a local musician, producer and recording artist.
